Hi all,
As I was following the instruction from the nice lady who lives in my PCM system
, I realized that the level was very loud in comparison to my CD. I tried to find a setting to adjust this to no avail.
Is there a way to do this?
I have read the manual, I mean the two encylopedias that came with teh beast, btu I do not recall seeing any mention of this!
TIA
Cyril

I forget the details, but by either pressing the "set" button or the right dial **** while in NAV mode, one should be able to find an option to determine the level for this.
As far as I can tell in mine, it is a more of a contrast thing in that it sound-lowers the radio/CD relative to the NAV voice. Not perfect, as a setting for normal driving music vs. more spirited one could still result in the nav being overly loud or invisible.
Next time you are stuck in traffic, experiment with the SET & Right-dial while in different modes, all kinds of options I don't recall in the manual show up.

Hi DanP,
Thanks for the tip, I will check this out. You are rigth on the contrast thing as I seem to remeber that when I picked the car from teh dealer it was actually the opposite happening, with the voice lelve being too low.

You can adjust the volume of the voice while she speaks.
As soon she stops giving directions, you can change the audio volume again.

You can also change the gender of the voice if you want.

Sadly, the voice selection is pretty limited with those two ones compared to other Becker nav systems.
My Becker/JVC nav radio offers an additional male voice with a very funny Bavarian accent and a very erotic female voice...

That's right Cyril about choosing the gender for nav voice. With respect to volume, my daughter claims that the man is quieter than the lady. His lower voice does seem a bit more subdued. So, if you want to pump up the volume, choose the lady over the man. I've gotta try the British Lady, though!https://rennlist.com/forums/newreply...e=1&p=2387719#

My wife calls the lady The Bitch because once she kept telling us "Turn around NOW! Turn around NOW!" even though we were going in the right direction. Evidently it causes a lot of friction to have two women giving directions at the same time. So I keep the nav voice off and listen politely to my wife.

I drove to a meeting today and switched to the British lady just for fun. I like her a lot better than the American lady. Next time I have my wife in the car I'll turn on the new British voice and see what happens. What's the British word for Bitch? (I'm terrible at foreign languages.)
