Mode differences in acceleration + brake boosting!
Hey guys,
Wanted to just showcase the acceleration difference in the various modes in my 2008 CTT.
I also wanted to show off just how much of a difference brake boosting can make in your launch time!
But don't take my word for it... Check it out for yourself!
(Of course, I always appreciate likes on the videos, comments, and subscriptions to the youtube page)
I've read that applying brake and throttle simultaneously on the 955 adapts the ECU to a lower power level for a period of time.
I don't know if this also happens on the later Cayennes.
Did you notice any reduction in power with the brake boosting?
Next time you start slowing down for a turn or something, dont let up on the gas and apply the brake at the same time. The ecu will close the throttle. The ecu limits how high you can rev with your foot on the brake as well as a soft rev limiter when you are in neutral.
This is a safety feature designed into almost all cars. Even my 84 Saab Turbo had it. It's so that the brakes can always override the power in an emergency or during a malfunction to stop the car. In turbo cars, it cuts the boost level significantly. You can try it by getting into full boost, then just touching the brake pedal and watch the boost needle.
Looks like it will allow you to build a little boost before take off though. As long as full boost is available once you remove your foot from the brake, this should work fine, no?
That's exactly what happened. I mean, I don't think it cut boost because the performance was dramatically improved with brake boosting. I'm not sure that I've seen any decreased power after doing that either. If anyone has any input with the ECUs of this car, it would be appreciated!
