Exclamation Thoughts on this new 22" Wheel Matte & Stainless Lip

Thoughts on this new 22" Wheel Matte & Stainless Lip

We have brought in few sets of the WD-349 wheel in 22" to see what it looks like in person and on a few rides. We will be installing them on a Panamera and Cayenne very soon but here are the initial photos.

They are 22x10 (et. 50) and 22x11 (et. 55), no spacers or special items needed to install. Wheels are manufactured in ITALY.

Thoughts?

Stand alone I like the look. I doubt I would like it on the vehicle though as I think there is such a thing as too big

Ditto, looks great in pics. On a vehicle is entirely different.

I love the style of the rim. But the matte would need to match something on my CTT. I have all the black out options on my white CTT,... so maybe if I put some matte vinyl stripping down along the lower side doors (between the two tires),.. it would match nicely, and tie the two together.

.02

Then again, I have zero chrome,... so the polished SS lip would then not match up to anything.

It's a good looking wheel. But I have 22" on my 955 and would not want them again. They look great, but driving over curbs, severe bumps/holes, there no sidewall that can deal with it. If it's a Starbucks car, fine. You want function? Too much wheel.

Don't care for them by themselves. Might look better on a car. But they do Look dated to me.

Well guys we may have a chance to put them on the Cayenne tomorrow, keep your finger's crossed...

I'm sure it will give off a better feel to the wheel when you see in on the Cayenne, we have plans on getting them on a Panamera also but that will cut it close...

Thanks for all of your honest opinions

I like the chrome lip, but not really into black wheels. Growing up in the 70's black wheels look to me like you lost your hub caps.

I like my Champion Motorsports RG24's.

Not my cup of tea. Spoke pattern is too busy and will be hard to clean, wide polished lips always look too '80s to me, and a convex center section looks very odd, especially when the flush face wheels and concave style is far more popular and better looking. The TechArt Formula One is much more to my liking for a Cayenne and probably what I'll put on mine when purchased later this year.

On the other side one can argue that the BBS LM or the Champion Motorsport wheels are also too busy right? With that being said here is a closer look at the a close comparison to the Champion wheels.

Yup, don't really like those either. Much prefer their RG5 or RS171. The centers of the Champions you posted don't bulge out in the center though, o don't think. There may be others that love them, just sharing one opinion since you asked for opinions.

Not keen at all.... The heavy convex spoke shape with concave center looks dated.

BBS LM's are a design classic because of the flat face spokes.
