Just bought a 14 GTS and real happy with it........except.......I open the driver's side door and a consistent low static noise comes from the passenger side Bose surround sound speaker. I get in the seat and the sound continues and this is also with the radio off.............WHAT COULD IT BE BESIDES A GREMLIN?? The onside continues as I drive off and when I turn the radio on it can still be heard but masked noise.......

Any ideas? thanks in advance.

Yes....but usually not stumped by something so weird and thought maybe someone else could assist with an idea of what it is.......

When you open the door the canbus system wakes up, powering thing up including the audio equipment.
I'd guess the amp has an issue. Poorly grounded maybe?

After reading about speakers tonight I think you are on the right track.......thanks for info about the canbus system and the grounding of the amp.........oh.....is canbus an abbreviation?

It is.. controller area network bus.. or something like that. It is like IBM or AMD; an acronym used more than the words it is short for. Pretty much all modern cars use it to some extent.

It was a bad amp......covered under warranty to a tune of $ 1500.......

How did they determine it was a bad amp? I saw some other postings in this regard in other forums. Is there a TSB that you know of? My CPO runs through next December.
