Default What to look for in 08 CTT?

I am beginning my search for an 08 CTT...what things should I look for specifically?

What big maintenance issues should I ask about to see if they have been taken care of already?

What options are worth waiting for? What options are crap?

Basically, looking for a Black 08 CTT with either Black or Gray interior, panoramic sunroof, and prefer the black exterior accent package (not sure what the official name for it is).

thanks

PDCC is an option that most enjoy. You can id whether it has it with silver suspension controls (vs black). Another option that some prefer is the folded leather although some ppl don't like that look. I think the folded leather is much higher quality (thicker). It's good to find one with a tow package since that a bit of a pita to add. Otherwise turbos come with a lot standard. The most important is to find a specimen with records of regular maintenance. Proper oil change intervals and scheduled stuff. 957s are pretty reliable if you take care of them.

Common advice is to avoid the pano roof. PDCC is sweet. Wish I had held out for the full leather dash and GTS style seats, but those are rare. I agree tow package nice to have, if nothing else for hitch mount racks.

I have the pano roof on my '08 turbo and have had zero issues with it. Others may have had different experiences. It's important to run it through it's self-adjust routine 2-3 times a years, keep everything clean. It creates a nice open feel with the shade open and the glass closed.

+1 on the PDCC. Other really nice options are 4-zone HVAC, thermally insulated glass, and the tow package. I have full leather but you need to keep that dash conditioned and garaged.

Mostly because it is a super-expensive-complicated-heavy-time-bomb. Hot in the summer, cold in winter depending in your location. If you never have to fix it, then it's cool looking, but if you do you have to fix it you will not like your truck ever again.

I personally wouldn't want the pano in CA. It gets too hot here and I even keep the sunroof shade closed most of the time what to speak of a pano. Might be nice in the pnw for light. I have heard quite a few horror stories on these forums about pano fails. However, drastically the failure rate may be really low. The forums do tend to aggregate people with problems.

I've had the pano on both my GTS and the 957 turbo and wouldn't be without it now; I love the light which it brings into the cabin. I have had no problems keeping the car cool. When driving my shade is always open but purely as a matter of form I close it and put a windshield shade when parked. I'm not sure that this makes much difference though and after parking the cars have been no hotter inside than any other cars which I have driven here in the ME.

Well the pano glass must be different. I can feel the heat from the sunroof with the shade open.

Perhaps.

Due to the rake of the rear glass, my 996 turbo actually gets much hotter in the sun than the Cayenne

@VIPNiSS - the position selector switch can be tilted forward. Hold for 5-10s (it's in the manual) and it will go through a routine where it opens & closes and finds the limits and presumably stores that data.

@endless_corners - we live in the same town and I still haven't seen your Cayenne. Let's get coffee so I can check out that gorgeous color combo.

+1 I love the pano roof. I have had zero problems with it but I can understand that if you are mechanically challenged, it could be expensive to fix if you aren't capable of tackling it yourself.
In Seattle, we need all the light we can get!

Get the PDCC. Its capabilities are really quite amazing.

Cheers,
TomF
