Default IAA Frankfurt show news concerning Cayenne

Alright, guys, I did a crazy thing and decided to go to the Frankfurt Auto Show on a Saturday well, overcrowded with a new visitor record (137000 visitors that day)...I left after three hours...
I couldn't even get a glimpse of Mercedes SLR, Carrera GT or Maybach and it was really hard to see some parts on the new VW Golf V...I still prefer the press day of Geneva's auto show

Anyway, thanks to the crowd entertainment for the Carrera GT, I was able to get a look at all four different Cayennes on display (although all were locked):

S with prosecco metallic:

I am pretty busy right now but these are the news I recollect from the new price list and Tequipment brochure:

- as I have speculated after looking at the V6 prototype with Targa roof in Leipzig, price list confirms V6 won't come with an automatic aircon a standard equipment (at least on the German market) (see interior pic below)

- Sand beige leather will also be available in full colour with no havanna (brown) mix:

- The new Cayenne brochure shows a pic of the V6 with the new 17" wheels ...

- Took a pic of the new offroad nav system's menu

- Wheels are now available in body colour paint (incl. 20" Sport Technos, just saw them on a company C parked at Stuttgart airport's GA terminal)

- All wheels (incl. Sport Technos) can be ordered from the factory

- Carbon/leather steering wheel and interior package available:

- New roof rail available through Tequipment:

- Six speed manual will be available in October (said a Porsche rep, price list speaks of introduction in early 2004)

- Exclusive program will be available shortly

Hope to post more details and pics at the weekend...

Great pics, Ngfan.

I've grown so accustomed to my Havana beige interior that the Sand beige looks kind of strange. Almost like it's not dark enough.

The roof rack also looks great; better than the Thule set up that I have now, but it looks like you still need to buy crossbars.

Thanks guys, but the pics come from Porsche's IAA website...

I will show you more detailed pics (my own) of this roof system over the weekend and share more info from the new price list with you.

Cheers,

Cayenne V6 with 17" wheels:

"Cayenne" letters for V6 model in dark grey vs. aluminum color for S and Turbo models:

Cayenne V6 comes with a manual air conditioning system as standard equipment, note the big single buttons vs. the double buttons on an automatic air con (as reported in my factory sighting):

Once again, an outstanding post ngfan! Thanks for all the info.

The "Nose Screen" above looks like the stainless steel skidplate that has been available for some time. Is there something different here?

GM Austin, it is exactly that skidplate (nose screen translation was made by google.de ). Only difference is that one can order it now to be installed during car production process.

Porsche now offers a specific engine protection in black steel for serious offroading (this accessory can be combined with that stainless steel skidplate):

part number is: 955 107 981 00

Another very small visual difference between V6 and S/Turbo:

No silverish applications around the instruments

Thank You ngfan! I am ordering that part! I had not seen it before. Is this part of the Technical Off-road Package? It looks like a tequipment photo. Is this from one of the Porsche websites? I knew there was to be more skidplates but something I read left me with the impression that there would be one under the compressor (under the passenger footwell area).
