Cayenne Mileage confused
Hi there, Im new to this forum and I'd like to know abt Mileage. Here in the photo, it shows 7513 mi in left cluster and 39200 mi in right cluster.
Im thinking to buy GTS 2013 and owner said only 7513 miles. So what is 39200 miles show in black cluster?
Also Car Horn is so delay to push. When I push it, it slowly backwards. So it sounds about two seconds even I push very fastly.
Pls advice me cos it will be my first Porsche. Sorry for my English.

the 39200 just shows you when a service interval is coming up. looking at that it looks like the major interval which I think is 40k or 3 years on the GTS. the days and mileages make sense for that.
That would imply major service was just done after only 6500 miles or so, so I'd ask about that. You'd think you'd have 40,000-current mileage for major service.
someone who knows more can probably correct me though.

Major on a 958 is 40k/4yr, neither of which that 2013 has passed yet. Intermediate is 20k/2 and OCI is 10k/1 (5k/1 on the diesel).
Could have been that the PO was sold a service they didn't need or the Tech reset the wrong interval by mistake. Check the other two intervals and see if either of them was reset about the same time/milage.

Thanks guys.
These are another two intervals.
So it means the car was driven only 7513 mi and I will need to do service in 10000, 19200, 39200?
But when I check VIN code, it shows mileage is over 45000 km. So 7513 mi is reduced one? Should I buy it?

i don't have a 958 so i can't be certain, but is it possible that the **** around the 7oclock position under the speedometer is pressed to show the trip mileage, and not the overall mileage.
7k miles in 2 years (almost 3 yrs) is like Ferrari kind of mileage, I think the 45k km is more reasonable (~28k miles).
The screen on the right with the maintenance interval should have no bearing on overall mileage shown on the left, it's just telling you how many miles left until you need to perform that specific service.

Based on those images the OCI was just reset and it hasn't been driven significantly since then (can't remember if it ticks off every mile or by tens or hundreds. The intermediate interval shows that it was reset at the same time as the major interval.
Are you buying this from a Porsche dealer? Is it a CPO?
If so then it could be that they did all the services as part of the CPO process.
If either of those answers are no, I'd want to see records for when/why those were reset. Doing the OCI would make sense for a dealer that is trying to flip it, but the other 2 services aren't cheap when done by a dealer and that would just be money out of the seller's pocket.
As far as when you need to do them, without hard records that the services were indeed done and done by a qualified shop, assume that none have been done. That means it is over due for the intermediate service and you should do the oil (part of the intermediate anyway actually). It also means that you've got about a year before the major service is needed.
A Porsche dealer should be able to tell you it's in service date which will let you figure out exactly with the major service would be do (sans legitimate evidence that it has already been done).
What is the report that shows it at 45000km? Is that for the official vehicle registration?
If it's your DMV that is reporting that, I wouldn't touch it until the seller sorts that out. Either there is a simple clerical mistake somewhere or the car has been tampered with. 20k+ miles is a hell of a typo though...
Typically I wouldn't suspect tampering, but when coupled with the SIs being reset I would be very skeptical.

Nope, the 12.1 underneath is the trip meter. All pressing the stalk does is reset the trip.

Wild guess here:
Is it possible the cluster failed and was replaced? I know a dealer can set the mileage on a new cluster, but I don't know if an indy can.
And my understanding is that if a cluster is installed, there's a limited amount of miles the car can be driven before it can no longer be reset.

Thanks guys, I was about to buy from local seller who sell various brands of cars. Unfortunately there is no official Porsche dealers in my country yet. My local seller said he imported this GTS from US.
Here is car VIN no. and the web where I checked,
http://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/check-...AD2A26DLA72389
Btw, everytimes I check this car VIN there, it shows different approx mileage there like 45000, 38000, 42000...etc.... so I guess it just calculate average mileage and not actual milrage.
I also checked other random cars' VIN from online dealers and most of them are different mileage between vindecoderz.com and their mention mileage.
And I really dont know what is reset in interval. It means they just reset it without actual service?
I wish Porsche will come to my country officially soon. I really wamt to buy that GTS cos it has my fav packages; while clusters, carbon fiber interior, GTS seats...etc... :-)

You might try buying a Carfax report and see what it says about the mileage. Gray market plus questionably reset SIs and mileage discrepancy would make me run away. Just feels like too much of a risk if it were my money.
All you need is a PIWIS or Durametric to reset the intervals, but that doesn't mean the work has actually been done. It just resets those values to the full values.
