Yes, very reliable. Especially when compared to similar BMW systems. We see very few Cayenne Air Suspension issues.

The Cayenne, from what we see, (and I own a 130K mile Cayenne TT) does not require serious money to maintain compared with its peers. It does seem to vary from car to car mind you...

I don't know who Mercedes uses for their Air Suspension part suppliers but Audi & Porsche are the same suppliers. Yes, the original Audi Allroads had some problems but they were Gen1. The Cayenne's are much better as well as the Audi A8's. The compressor's are the only somewhat problematic. They usually start to go around 60~80K and 7~10yrs of use but as mentioned above are an easy and cheap rebuild. Porsche will only replace the whole compressor, VW will sell you a halfway resonably (for OEM)priced Touareg (same compressor) rebuild kit, but there is a cheap aftermarket (Ebay) rebuild kit of great quality for $30~$40 which will take you another 60K~80K. I would never buy another Cayenne without the Air Suspension. Those that have had both Air and Steel springs will and have said the same here on the list.

 

Nope. No issues at all on my 05 CTT and will be turning over 105k next month.

I am still on original pump and air springs.
