BBS SV Wheels

BBS SV Wheels
I decided it was time to lose the factory staggered set-up my CTTS came with and go bigger, so I picked up a set of the awesome BBS SV rims. They're available in two styles, one with a machined face on black paint, and the second being a flat matte titan grey color. After going back and forth trying to choose between the two styles, I finally decided on the titan grey because I believed the machined finished spokes made the spokes look too thin and dainty on the Cayenne. The titan wheels makes the spokes appear a bit wider and more uniform in size. I opted to stick with a 20" diameter BBS SV wheel (they're also available in 22's); the 20's are only available in 10" width in a Cayenne fitment:
I was due for a new set of TPM sensors and was pleased to discover that Huf offers the correct length valve stem kit (43mm) in a titan grey finish - which would match the rims:
The Huf Generation 2 valve stems install in two steps instead of the three required by the Generation 1 stems. Here's a shot of the stem being torqued onto the wheel to the specified value of 4 Nm:
The sensor then attached to the bottom of the valve stem using the same torque value. Here's a shot of the sensor in place following mounting:
The German TUV approval letter for the wheel lists the approved tire size combinations and fitments. One of the reasons I got these is because they are sort of "future-proof" for me inasmuch as they will also fit later generation Cayennes as well as the Macan. I opted to go for the largest TUV approved tire size for the rims, a 295/40/20 tire. Since I already have winter tires, I chose to go with a Y rated summer tire and ended up selecting the Continental CrossContact UHPs. These are XL load rated as well as Y speed rated, more than enough capacity for the heavy Cayenne and a true high performance tire. The Hunter TC3715E made easy work of mounting the tires:
Tire/wheels assemblies were force matched on a Hunter GSP9700. I'd have to rate the Continental tires as having less uniformity than Pirelli tires, but they still ended up yielding decent results and balanced up without issue. An added bonus was that the wheels use the factory wheel bolts, so I was able to retain the factory wheel locks. Wheel mounting torque is 160 Nm.
I'm very happy with the result. Even my wife gave me the two thumbs up after discovering I had bought yet another set of wheels. The vehicle finally looks like it is not riding on too skinny of a tire:
The fenders are nicely filled out:
And finally, the requisite side shot:

I'll let you know Damon. I am in Europe these days, so buying from the USA might not be financially advantageous.
BamaScoot: I am looking for various photos of 20" BBS SVs on a 955/957 (Turbo or GTS would be great). I did check google before asking. Thank you for nothing...
