2013 Cayenne Diesel unable to smog test, no parts
So my 2013 got called for smog & after 5 different smog places I took it to the dealership & told them the computer keeps telling the smog stations I haven't driven it enough. They attempted to put miles on it, etc. Finally after a week they tell me the part I need isn't made & Porsche has to make a new one from scratch... So I have been w/o a car and will be w/o a car for the foreseeable future.
If anyone else is in CA & the smog stations tell you that you haven't driven it enough, brace yourself.
What a waste of time.

certain areas have the bi-annual smog regulation not all of CA, I stand corrected.

If you live in one of the areas listed & you didn't get your sticker that is why. It doesn't really stand out. I've never had to smog a car before. Really stupid law. I bet a bunch of law makers patted themselves on the back for that one.

When I had my VA emissions done this year I had a similar issue. The dealer had just reset a bunch of stuff (before doing the emissions I asked them to do ) and told me I had to drive about 30 miles. I put 150 on it and it still told the emissions station that it wasn't ready. I took it back to the dealer and they did something to take care of it.
They didn't share the details, but they only had it a day so I don't think a part was involved.

Gnat, would you share which dealership service station it was, maybe I can call them & have them talk to mine. It sounds like the exact same issue, just my guys are bungling it. After they took care of it did you have to drive it more miles? My plates are expired now so its a real pain.

Audipwr1, they are attempting to fix it. I called Porsche Customer Service, too. Which I know from past experience is a total joke, but maybe will help the next guy.
I also wonder if maybe because mine has 15k miles on it that is not enough data for the computer? Maybe the original engineers bungled the requirements. The Porsche service center originally told me that the car had to go 10 seconds on acceleration then 10 seconds off, ten times for the smog readings to register & they attempted to drive & do this themselves to no avail.
I love the car & nothing is wrong with it other than I can't get tags for the registration I already paid for it due to the computer not giving data to the Smog station. And I'm pretty pissed that I paid $50 a half dozen times to get it resmogged after they told me I needed to drive more. I thought maybe it was a recent oil change issue at 1st... Its my 2nd car so it doesn't get used a lot.

In VA for the "test" they simply plug up to the OBD port and read it out. If the computer gets reset or you disconnect the battery it has to reset itself (I read the same procedures that you did, but no help). The dealer did whatever they did and I had a valid emissions entry when I picked it up. That dealer was Porsche of Tysons in Tysons Corner, VA.

California is very pro consumer in this way

A little confused here. Is the issue because service was performed before the smog test and the CD's computer was reset for the next service period?
If so, we should all make sure to smog the CD before doing any computer resets.
