Curious what, if any, items or technology is are different between those two years.

Nothing. The only change is porsche offered the turbo s in 06. Nothing on the normal CTT changed.

Some parts had the later revisions (slightly better reliability but basically the same), PCM2.1 had the phone button whereas most all '05's had PCM2.1 without the phone button (and came with Level A software which will need to be updated if not done already).

Ok fine the coils packs and pcm (which sucks on both) get a version upgrade. In reality they are virtually identical vehicles.

Fewer TSB's, but I'd say that only mattered during the first 40K miles. Functionally, and to what you can see and touch, they're the same. Reliability will be the same once you're beyond 60K miles. Same with cost of ownership.
