I have the Conti's too. They work just fine in the snow. They last around 22k miles or so. Considering I drive the car the way I do with lots of stop and go driving and P!G's aren't exactly light either its not too bad.

There are no all season tires in 295/35/21, only summer and winter. In addition, it's not a common tire size and as a result there is a limited tire selection. Unfortunately, If you want all seasons you will either have to step down to 20" or step up to 22".

Anyone tried to go with 295/40/21 (instead of the OEM 295/35/21).
There seems to be plenty of space for it and with little bit extra tire the ride might be more comfortable. There is Scorpion Zero all season available in that size.

I haven't tried it personally, but a couple of issues I have heard about. There is some fender rub in the front at full turn. The other is speedometer and mileage numbers would be off. You can see the comparison in the link below:

I've got about 25k on mine, and still plenty of meat left. I'll likely replace them around 35k or so. It's currently hovering around 0 degrees and there's about an inch of the white fluffy stuff screwing up traffic. While I *can* lose traction, I'd be really disappointed if a twin turbo, 450hp Porsche couldn't.

While they are no snow tire, they are adequate and wear MUCH better than the Michelin Latitudes.

I purchased a set of Michelin latitudes and have put about 1000 miles on them and I really like them much better than the Pirellis that came on truck from the factory. I got 30,000 miles out of them and have them mounted on factory 19" turbo wheels. The truck is a 2011 V6. We had some snow yesterday and ice today and the Michelins were fine.

I'm not sold on how the Conti Extreme DWS apparently morph from being all-season tires to dry pavement service tires as they wear. Or are the sequential D-W-S wear indicators simply a gimmick, and any all-seasons lose their snow capability as they wear? Looking at over a grand for four of these.

+1 on DWS, good all around more so than most all seasons.

DWC, Any tire will loose its snow traction abilities and then wet traction abilities as it wears down. You need nice groves/channels to be able to grab on to the snow/push it away and syphon water and keep in contact with pavement. Take any tire, shave it down and you got slicks. As you know slicks are good only on dry pavement.

And yes, with allot of power they can wear out faster than others. Its soft compound but keeps the car smooth, quiet and has good grip.

yeah, they are a gimmicky wear indicator. Obviously the "S" goes away first, followed later by the "W" and then when the D goes away you should be looking for a new set. Like any tire, they are much better in the winter when new than when used up.

Again, they are pretty soft for a summer tire and you will feel it in a little less stability, at least I did.

Was shod with 4 Conti DWS this morning. Conti has a 60-day satisfaction guarantee so I can swap them if I have any issues.

I had the Scorpions mounted on Monday and took the CTT out for a long drive across the mountains and around Lake Wenatchee. The Scorpions were really, really great on ice and snow, even at speed over the passes.

I deliberately tried some extreme inclines (driveways and plowouts) with snow and ice, and I was impressed with their capabilities. These are mounted on factory 21s...

Since I didn't have a winch or shovel I didn't try the really deep snow. I will in a couple of weeks over at the cabin in Mazama.

The Scorpion Snow/Ice tire for the 21 inch 2008 Cayenne Turbo cannot be beat in Snow/Ice.

Last year, I had to leave Jackson Hole, WY around 9 pm to get back to Salt Lake City, UT. Long story short -- blinding snow storm over the Afton Pass (2 lane road). Unreal amounts of snow and slush and no plows. Was able to maintain a consistent 50 MPH -- unreal performance by the car and the tires. This was the same storm (over 90 MPH winds) that knocked The Jackson Hole Ski Resort offline for over a week (knocked down all the electric utility poles).

I switch to a performance summer tire each spring. My Latitude tires are getting a little worn.

What is the latest/greatest 21 inch summer performance tire for the 2008 Turbo? People still in love with the Conti DWS? Is that really a summer performance tire?
