Default Engine ticking in 2006 turbo S

My little bro is looking at a lower miles 2006 turbo S, he says it has a mild ticking noise coming from under intake that is constant at all RPM's, dealership says it's the injectors, is this normal?

Injectors can sound like faulty lifters but they should tick faster, just like a bad lifter, if the engine speed is increased.

I may have gotten that detail wrong, I think ticking does increase with engine speed.

With the hood closed it should be barely discernible but with the hood up quite noticeable hearing the injectors firing.

I would have it inspected for sure. I looked at one just recently in Michigan that didn't pass my test. Engine was nosey and it appeared to not have been serviced well. Decided to pass on it. Apparently the dealer had like 100 emails on it...

Yep 2006 Turbo S. Porsche dealer just got it in. Sometimes there's a reason they're priced that cheap I found out why... lol

You could have piston slap or worn lifters. These cars are prone to scored cylinders (google it), and this might be a sign...

Pu911rsr, never got email.
