2006 Turbo S or 2008 Turbo....
If you had to choose which would you? 2008 Turbo running comparable price wise to 2006 Turbo S with with similar mileage.
Interestingly, peak torque on the 2006 occurs much lower at 2750 RPMs vs the larger 4.8 Turbo at 4500 RPMs according to the Wiki:

Does this make sense?

I just bought an '08 CTT. My first preference would have been an '09 CTT to get the updated PCM but I couldn't find one. The biggest issue with the '08s is that Porsche used glue to attach pipes to both the coolant distribution manifold and the thermostat housing. This glue fails over time and requires either JB Welding the pipes back in or replacing the housing and manifold with new redesigned part but that requires dropping the engine. Of course the '06 CTTS will need coolant tubes and tees.
Other than that the 957 is a nice upgrade over the 955 with many other design/stying improvements.
One other difference is the brakes. The '08 uses $300 rotors and the '06 CTTS has two piece $1,500 rotors. Marginally better braking for vastly more maintenance expense.

Actually, I did find one 2009 Turbo S with 80K miles on it for $44K with a clean carfax. It seems to be about $9K below kbb trade in without adding any options so it could be even more than $9K below.....so almost too good to be true. I'd up my budget if I thought it legit but I'd need to drive 300 miles to see it.
Anyone have any advice?

I actually think the 957 looks like a goofy body kit put on a 955
There are places where the body lines just don't line up right. The facelifted front fenders don't flow into the non-facelifted doors for example.
Since they only changed a few body parts instead of all of them(front fenders, headlights, bumper, mirrors, rear taillights and bumper, just painted the trim below the tailgate glass black, etc) it doesn't seem to flow quite right to me.

I'd take the 08 every time, all other things equal. Besides the model year and pig being newer, I just like the looks of the 08 better. There is a white one on eBay again in Delray Beach FL with 40k miles that is a great looking truck. I would trade my 09 GTS for it if it wouldn't screw me so bad price wise.

The white one in Delray Fl is nice. I especially like the full leather dash and doors. No PASM though and if you can live without a Pano, it's beautiful. Even has the super desirable trailer hitch and appears to have the off road option. Funny, I don't see many white Cayenne's, let alone Turbo's. He's probably looking to get close to $40k. I thought all 09 Porsche Turbo's were S's. I never understand how and why they do things over there at Porsche

And the 2009 PCM fixed all of these issues? I guess I'll have to nix the 2008. I'm now leaning towards a 2009 Turbo S. Drat! My budget is creeping up. I hate this!
