Default Vacuum Pump replacement DIY?

Hello,
I still get a CEL P2404, Porsche Dealer checked and they told me the Vacuum Pump needs to be replaced. It's a Cayenne 2008 S, any pointers to a DIY and does someone has the parts numbers I need for the work?
Thanks,
- Juergen

Check with the dealer, not sure if a 2008 has an electric or engine driven pump. The 2006 part is 95535561702 and less than $200. Your 2008 may have an engine driven pump? If it is an electric pump it will be a aluminum cylindrical pump probably over under the plastic cover by the windshield washer.

2008 Should be mechanical, driven off of the back of the passenger side exhaust cam. I believe I have replaced one of these before, but I don't recall anything particularly difficult. Just 3 Torx bolts and one or two hose connections.
Part number should be 94811005006, and it will include a new o-ring.

Ok, thanks for the information, will check on the car which one I have and will then probably call Pelican to make sure I get the correct part. Will update the thread with my findings!

Update, finally had time to check and it's 94811005006 for the 2008 Cayenne S, ordered one today and will get it next week. Looks like two hose connections and 3 bolts, pump is $182. Porsche dealer in Bellevue wanted to have $840 for replacing the pump

Changed the vacuum pump today, in total 2 hours of work, but I saw that one of the vacuum connectors has no hose connected, see picture. Any idea whether this correct or do I miss a vacuum hose????

Bump, I have the same error and wanted to know if swapping the vacuum pump fixes the issue.

Thanks in advance.

might be missing a vacuum cap on that line if you didn't have a p0455 code from that open line

Mine has a tight-fitting rubber cap on that connection.

I recently swapped the vacuum pump. So far so good.
Need an inverted torx socket or an 8mm ratcheting wrench to get the 3 bolts off. Bit of a PITA job but definitely a DIY.

Update: 8/21/15

Cayenne S has run error free since the vacuum pump upgrade. So more than a month now without a CEL.

I just changed my coolant tank and when running heard a weird sound. Found the same connector with the same hose off. I can’t find anything to hook to it. Any input on what line goes there?
