Default Good deals?

Im thinking of buying a cayenne and have two in my area that im interested in, there is a 2004 s with navigation and 50,000 miles for 19,900.

there is also a 2006 s titanium with 90,000 miles for 19,900.

are these good prices and is it possible to get a turbo for under 20,000?

thank you

I have seen a few turbo's with those miles (around 100k) for under 20k on ebay. I would never pay that much for a S (20k) especially when its almost guaranteed to need a new engine if you live in a colder climate. You know about the scored cylinders on these SUV's, right?

Do a search on this forum for "scored cylinders" and you can read all about it. It's no secret that the engine in the Cayenne S is prone to scored cylinders in colder climates requiring a complete engine replacement. Shoot, a simple google search will bring up many threads on the subject. Are you feeling lucky? If so buy one.. lol

For that money you can get a turbo. It does not have the same issue as the S. Unreal bang for the buck. Some Turbo's on this board have over 300,000 miles.

For what it's worth, I picked up an '05 Turbo, loaded, with 68k miles, in great shape, for $19k about 2 months ago from a Porsche dealer. You may have to look for a while and weed out the losers, but there are great deals to be had on first-gen Turbos.

If you live in a cold climate... Higher mileage NON TURBO v8's can suffer from "cylinder scoring". The turbos are immune to this problem and it doesnt show up in warmer environments. You can definitely find a cayenne turbo for $17-22k that will rock your socks. There is no reason to not get a turbo. I have had bmw and mercedes SUV's and I love my cayenne best.
