Default Help Choosing Next Cayenne Please?

Hi all

I really want to come back to Cayenne ownership after totally loving the 955 CTT i had, and regretting selling her, which is the first regrettable sale I have ever had.

I have 3 options in mind with different agendas aswell I suppose:-

1. Another 955 CTT, I have a great deal on the table for an 03 03 with only 60k miles, all the service invoices, and paperwork from new, only a 3 owner car and very good price.

2. There are a few 957 CTT around here in the UK for another £10k to £15k more than the 955 CTT so thats another option. Some have PDCC which Im keen to drive and see how that adds to the pleasure.

3. I am also thinking about a 2010 958 4.8 S which is another £10k again. They are usually high spec but most dont have the air suspension / PASM so are steel sprung nor do they have the adaptive sports seats which after sitting in a Hybrid that did, I found really nice.

My dilema, I cant help think that the 955 CTT will be masses of fun for very little cost but am concerned about its age a little and the fact that my last 955 was sold because of drive shaft problems. The one I am looking at doesnt have any record of coolant pipe changes either. Not a high cost to have both sorted I suppose and I quite like the thought of some nice personalisation, wheels, remap, tuning etc and it will still be a very cheap car compared to the other two.

The 957 will be better but I cant see the point in spending more than twice the cost of a 955 and in truth quite like the front of the 955 better anyway although the rear is more modern on the 957. Is it really worth double the money?

The 958 looks fantastic inside but what about steel sprung and no Turbo? My last 2 cars, a Bentley GT and now a Range Rover 5.0 Supercharged just havent come close to the fun factor of my 955 CTT and i am worried that the 958 will also suffer the same fate.

I cant comfortably afford a 958 Turbo so thats not an option just yet.

Would appreciate some feedback from you guys on this, really cant decide, on one had the 955 CTT is fantastic value but on the other hand the 958 S is likely to feel nice to drive and be better to own, wont it? But its £25k more than the 955 and whilst cost is not the total deciding factor being disappointed again for high outlay will hit me hard financially.

Thanks in advance

Carl

I'd get that 955, it was your first love...and you will always love it.

Thanks for the reply, thats my thoughts too at this stage. They are such good value for money now and I did love it very much. It was a high mileage example so a low mileage one with comprehensive service records etc, right colour combo and spec should see me just right plus I will feel good that I havent wasted a huge sum of money on something that was a slight disappointment.

God that 958 interior is nice though

I agree. If you long for a 955 TT then a 955 TT is what you should get.

An extra 50 HP, PDCC and a car that was 5 years newer were enough to swing it for me and I haven't looked back...but we're all different, fortunately!

That's the dilemma mcbit, the 957 is no doubt a better car but i love the front of the 955 CTT to be honest. I dont know if double the asking price can be justified by the fact its a bit better but also dont want to be proved wrong.

I can afford both but cant help thinking the 955 is a steal at the kind of money they go for now, plus a map to put it to 500hp only costs around £350 here in the UK.

To be honest there isn't a hugely noticeable difference in power but the driving dynamics of the newer car are IMHO greatly improved.

Is that with PDCC or all 957 cars? Would you say its worth an extra £10k plus in asking price?

The value is subjective. It's only universal on the 957 TT. Optional on the regular and S.

IMO, it makes the car into my dream ride but it may not do the same for you. You just gotta feel going from regular old TT to Sport mode to get a sense of how great this is. Also I get a kick out of doing that Citrroen routine where you stop and have the car raise up a few CM's.
