Hey L, I haven't been to a meeting in several months myself, I will be going to the banquet on the 18th (?) though. I wound up selling the CS and the M3 on consecutive days last month. Already had the GTS and I just fetched a '13 (used) VW Golf R before Xmas. Still have the same 993 though. Need to get to a C-n-C, just wish the weather would co-operate.

Retailers in southern California don't seem to carry that Bosch battery size, which is known as the H9 (95R) group size here. I also have the J0Z (or is it JOZ?) option code, and found an exact fit OEM replacement by asking for that size at Interstate Battery in San Gabriel for $217. I just bought the Interstate 720 CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) MTP-49/H8 for my '05 CTT. Perfect fit, tok 15 minutes to replace.

Does anyone know where the radio code is usually found? I looked through the manual and CDs I have and don't see it printed anywhere. I don't want to do this change until I find the code. I assume a dealer won't give it out over the phone. TIA

If you connect a trickle charger to your vehicle while swapping out your battery, you won't lose your radio code or need to reinitialize anything else. I just did my battery replacement while having my Battery Tender hooked up and running. No issues at all.

I don't think I've ever seen a Cayenne that required a radio code when replacing the battery.

What Tim said, I had no issues either when I removed the terminals to charge the battery directly or when I replaced the battery. A couple of settings I had to redo but nothing involving the PCM system.

Sorry, I don't remember which settings I had to reset.

Today our 06 CA (Tit Edit) got the FIRST battery remplacement !
Would you believe : a car manufactured aound Oct 06, would last till Oct 2014 !
That was the good nes.
The bad news is that at the dealer, it cost over U$ 600 ..to do it !

I do not think so as I asked him about the radio and whether he checked it was working and he said he forgot about it and asked me where the code can be found and if I need to take to the dealership if I needed the code. But fortunately it worked so I am guessing he did not use anything but just replaced it. He did say that it would take time for the car to get used to the new driving methods etc .

The battery in my '04 CS tests good but it is 4 years old and I worry. The dealer told me about $500 now to remove and replace. That seems kind of high but I definitely cannot do it myself so may go around to the indie and see what they quote.

Does $500 sound right? At $600 I don't know what I would do.

I think it is way too expensive. I replaced the battery in my Cayenne and it only cost me 265 including the battery. I bought the battery from Canadian Tire (I am in Canada) for about 150 dollars and then took it to the local Volkswagen dealership where they changed it for around 80 dollars. The battery is under the driver's seat just like some Volkswagen Tourags. ( I didn't add the tax here).
