Why not just call someone at Porsche in Stuttgart to help you sort this out? I would be very surprised if what you posted would be "plug and play" but then again, on my '01 Audi I was able to switch ECUs that way. Just sayin.....

Ok one more question....If I buy a used remote from ebay and put my key in it and take it to my dealer and say that the remote has stopped working....will they be able to tell if the remote is from another car? I can say I woke up and the car would not unlock and remote would not work.....so maybe they can reprogramme it....but if they know the remote is from another car then they might not.
I think OP is fine with $300 for a key, just not the $2k re-keying. Valid questions, regarding the Ebay key and wondering if the stealer can tell a used key, to reprogram. I'd be curious to know too.
in the UK and may well apply to rest of world car such as merc's/bmw/bentley/audi etc have a huge amount of info sorted in the key fob such as vin/colour/last time the car was opened with the fob /milage when the fob was last used etc.
it helps a lot in issues of theft and scams when the owner says one thing and the key fob says another ..
may not be the case with Porsche but would not be surprised.
Plus everything is expensive here...a new cayenne base is more than $100000
The fact everything is expensive does not mean you have the privilege to get F*#%K up because of a FOB...
Jus saying..
I'm pretty sure there's a best way to get out of this issue in India
ok so someone in the city has a key programmer....but he ne says he needs to pull out the keyless entry module or KESSY...read it and then transfer it into the key using a programmer called HITAG 2....but hes never done a porsche and needs to know where the KESSY module is located....
CAn you guys help?
You buy a *cut* key according to the VIN# from Germany via P-dealer. You will need to bring all key(s) to have 'em or it programmed to sync up both the car & key(s).
To answer your question, the key won't be programmed to your specific vehicle from the P-dealer, but the blade will be cut to your VIN# specific.

ps> sorry about the delay on response...
Yes the porsche dealer can do it but was asking $2000 for the job....so I was just lookin at cheaper alternatives......
Another question that remains is that if I buy a used key from ebay, can that key be reprogrammed again for my car?
The keymaker I spoke to said that the KESSY module is taken out, the chip removed and read and copied and then the remote is written by the machine called HITAG 2
