Default Lots of work done this week.

My 05 CTT (35k miles) had a bunch of stuff done this week:

Coolant pipes replacement (preventative).
35k 'service' (aka oil change).
Rear hatch and lift gate strut replacement.
Emergency brake strut replacement

Hopefully this will keep my p!g in rude health through the winter. Any other suggested maintenance I should consider?

It sounds like you've hit on a few of the more common issues. Hopefully that will get you through the winter!

You had a busy week I would just check over a few of the other wear items (wiper,brakes....etc.) one last time before Winter really starts to get going, but other then that you should be set, I would think.

Horns?

I've got two replacement horns on the shelf in front of my 06 CTT hoping that they take the hint and replace themselves while I'm out of the room.

Maybe the battery if it is original. It's approaching the replace date, and will only be a problem on the coldest snowiest morning when you're running a little late.

Good suggestions.

I know the wipers aren't long for this world. Horn seems fine. Brakes also seem fine. must look at battery to see if it is the original.

Thanks all.

No problem with the battery check. It's easy to access after about an hour of cursing. Your love for Dr. W. will grow stronger with each minute and hurdle.

Maybe fill the windshield reservoir and pump a liter through to your back window. The calcium builds up and clogs the rear nozzle when the fluid evaporates in the summer heat.

Just looked it up on Renntech. What a PITA! However it did potentially explain the gap in the carpet at the bottom of the driver's seat. That may point to the battery being replaced in the past. In any case, it doesn't seem like there are any battery problems.

I really wish I could get my hands on the service records. I can see from the Carfax that the (only) previous owner got it serviced often at a local dealer. I called that dealer's service dept before I bought the car to confirm if the coolant pipes were done. While they confirmed that they were not done, they were still pretty cagey with the information.
