Yes, My 08 turbo is kinda whiny. when idling, what i assume is the power steering pump seems loud. she idles louder than any other car ive had. My dealer says the 'turbos with pdcc all sound like that'. Is this true? Ive driven an 'S' and it doesnt sound like this. What say you

My 08 turbo w/pdcc does the same thing and I have a small leak that I haven't chased down yet. When I bought it I also found that the second reservoir under the cover was low. I'm a bit worried that some one put the wrong fluid in it at some point so my next plan (after fixing the leak) is to completely flush the system. Please post your fix when you solve it!

The tandem PDCC/power steering pump makes a humming noise. Cayennes without PDCC are not so loud.

I have the 958. A pet peeve of mine are the bearing noises from the various pumps. And that Fan motor is sooo loud.

It’s the PDCC; I spent almost 2-years looking for a CTT / CTTS before buying one, and cars with PDCC all had a noticeable sound difference from their hydraulics. Some cars seemed louder than others and the ’09 CTTS that I finally bought isn’t as loud as most ‘08s that I drove. But I’d have to think both years have the same units and mechanical configuration.

How great yours is quite. Mine is noisy as can be. What year is yours? Here is an interesting movie clip from Ken Rockwell's great website (if your a photographer). Its his review of a 2006 Cayenne Turbo S. His son is starting his CTTS and once started ... there is the exact sound mine makes too. Here is a link to the review http://kenrockwell.com/porsche/cayenne-turbo-s/ and to the short vid clip http://kenrockwell.com/ryan/images/2...2/IMG_1005.MOV. I have found a bunch of different video clips of that sound. Doesn't it sound just like the power steering pump in a vintage muscle car?

For a data point, my 04tt has made that same sound for the last 70k+ miles. Obviously does not have PDCC. Figured this was one reason they went so over-the-top on sound deadening for the interior, crazy-noisy mechanical noises from the engine. Heck, I can't even hear the turbos spool up unless the windows are down.

My 05 CTT had a pretty loud whine. My 06 CTTS is much quieter, but still there, just not noticeable.
