Default Radiator Fan issue

Im having radiator fan issue wiht my 04 CTT. No codes in Durametric. I visually confirmed both fans are working. Turning the A/C on turns on the big fan. Checked coolant level and all is ok.

Whats happening is that at high speed, above 70 or hard driving the temp goes above 180 to about 220. Never has done this before. Always stays at 180, and if it did go past 180, it would quickly come back down.

Also, there is no after run fan. The fans would stay on after a long drive or on hot days.

Driving in traffic has no affect on temp, it was 110 this weekend and stuck in traffic and car does not over heat.

Coolant pipes were done about 20K ago, with new sensor, thermo and water pump.

Is there a radiator fan switch?

I had the same thing on my 2005 CTT though temp not quite as high as yours (200F) during hard or high speed driving in hot weather. The amount time spent above 180F became longer over time. I suspect a low voltage issue; battery, resistance in wiring, poor ground etc. Never any problems stopped or in traffic.
