Took delivery of my CD Dark Blue / Beige earlier this week and am very pleased, but found reflections in the windshield to be a problem -- looks like a heads-up display -- particularly the vents. The reflection is much more pronounced with the beige interior versus the black on my 2012CV6.

Yesterday, I was considering ordering a dark Dashmat -- you can get custom ones designed for the Cayenne, but didn't want what amounts to a carpet up there.

After doing some research, found out it's a common problem, but has an easy fix. Polarized sunglasses reduce the glare significantly, to the point where it's no longer a problem. Took the CD out for a spin with my normal sunglasses, and pair of Maui Jim's that are polarized, and what a difference.

So those of you that have a Beige interior on order don't worry, just make sure you have a pair of polarized sunglasses with you when you pick it up, to avoid the what did I get myself into feeling. Actually, Porsche should include a pair or two with every beige unit, or at least a label on the dash recommending polarized lenses.

I picked up my same color combo 2 weeks ago and noticed the same thing...I do have polarized Rx lenses which were a nightmare with heads up display on my last vehicle so i mostly wore my transitions lenses. The polarized lenses do work well in the CD. I have heard about windshield tint designed especially to reduce glare. Anyone with thoughts on this?

Do you know if the dealer had applied a liquid protectant onto the dash surfaces during the PDI which may have inadvertently created a higher gloss level?

Speaking of reflections, last night I noticed that all the dash gauges reflect at the top of the windshield. Seems like they should have made the dash cover over the instrument panel a little longer to eliminate that.

I find this issue interesting as when we bought her 996 our dealer had another customer that was trying to order their leather "color to sample" as white. Porsche was apparently refusing to do it as they thought there would be a reflection problem on the windshield and deemed it unsafe.

Chris Bosh had his car pimped out with a white leather dash when he was a Raptor.

Closest thing to a man driving blind in daylight that I ever saw. LOL.

Don't know. Just looked at it and didn't see any sheen to it.

Much worse than the Black; I'd give the Black a 2 in reflectivity, and the Beige a 9. What's most distracting are the vents, and the reflection moves around as you drive. The dash reflection sometimes appears as white on the windshield -- it definitely is a visibility issue depending upon angle of sun. Kind of like ghosts dancing around your windshield.

Many car manufacturers use a dark colored dash with their beige interiors to avoid the problem.

Polarized sunglasses reduce the reflection significantly.

How'd you like to be driving with this distraction? Again, polarized sunglasses remove approximately 90% of the reflection.

And when something bugs you it's hard not to look for it. I suppose on cloudy days it gets better. I think two tone brown would be better.

Wow that sucks. Worst I have with my black interior is a reflection for the ring around the clock face, but from that pic I expect you can actually read the time in the reflection!

I wonder if you could mount a projector or something directed at your dash and make your own HUD..

I have HUD in my X5 and last night I was driving the Cayenne and the reflection of the gauges reminded me of that.

There's a case in Newark Federal Court for anyone bothered by the glare.

I have the same beige interior as well in my CD, while it's great looking reflection was an issue for me on day 1, but Maui Jim & Oakley polarized sunglasses completely eliminated the issue. No complaints at all.
