Auto crossing the Cayenne S
Going to give it a whirl SAT. Every Pcar I have owned has had track envy, so I have to take it out at least once, right? or wrong? 2nd off the line and 3rd throughout the run should keep my hands off the AUDI steering wheel paddle shifters right, well depends on track configuration, lol... PSM on or off?

I see you're in Napa Valley. Redwood Region has an autox at the Sonoma County Airport this weekend. Is that the one you're attending? I autox my Carrera there (I'm iffy for this weekend) but have thought about taking the Cayenne some time just to see what it would do. Should be interesting!
I know of no local rules against autoxing a Cayenne, but I don't recall seeing one out there, and it might not hurt to contact our autox coordinator before you make the trip. Check the link below for his contact info. Good luck, maybe I'll see you out there!

BTW, I think I'd try the first run or two with PSM on.

Well Kurt would know if the Cayenne is allowed, so you should be good to go!

Apparently I was given bad info previously. This thread got me off my *** to contact my chapter. AutoX class next Saturday, there are still openings, and another Cayenne is supposed to be there.

Pre-race check...I feel like this is my first Auto-X experience, but really is not. I was lucky to own an be real competitive in the eighties running my 914-6 in both GGR & Redwood followed by a 968 in the nineties , a 993 during mid 2000 and now the infamous 955 chili pepper. Today is going to be an education in defensive driving skills, right? Crap, what tire pressures shall I run, PSM on or off, or what the hell we will try both settings, I kinda wish I had an air suspension so I could also change ride heights too, lol.... smooth and fast, thats what I was taught.. =)

I think at least the first run or two I'll do with normal inflation and PSM on. Then I'll play with things depending on how it does and how many runs I get to make. My goal isn't to compete, just to know what I can depend on it being able to do for me in a bad situation.
Edit: I've been vocal about Air suspension not being as important as some people claim, but I have a feeling that next week I'll wish I had it
