Aside from the smell of coolant, are there any visible indicators of the pipe failures? I am looking into a used CTT and a service advisor from the dealership that the vehicle was serviced at says the pipes weren't done.

I would make sure it's your coolant pipes leaking first, we do over a DIY if your ambitious and have the time to do it. For more information on the Click Here.

I would be adding (distilled) water not coolant if you suspect a leak, no sense adding more of that stuff to crust up on your engine if you don't need to. It's not going to be either too hot or too cold in Atlanta this time of year.

Also make sure you are adding Porsche fluid and not just any antifreeze off the shelf. Use a 50/50 mix.

I'll be adding distilled water until I can get it in a shop.

If your smelling the fluid but not seeing any leaks you need to stop driving the car especially if your filling it with large amounts of coolant. If it's the coolant pipes than you are most likely filling the valley of the motor and that's going to destroy the starter and possibly the rear motor/transmission seal.

Mine had a cracked coolant reservoir. I would try to find a leak first.
