Brake Booster Question
I'm having an intermittent Brake Booster Faulty warning on my '04 CTT. I've read every post on the web about the cracking vacuum lines etc.
I've check all the lines as far as I can see and reach and can't find any cracks. I also disconnected the vacuum line from the pump and then hooked a hand vacuum pump(with a gauge) up to it and applied a vacuum to see that it holds vacuum. It does with no leaks.
The warning illuminates on cold days <35 degrees F. And it does it about 5 minutes after startup, and regardless of whether or not I'm braking. I feel no difference in the brake pedal during any of this. The warning doesn't clear until after I turn the car off and restart, then take it on a short drive. Going to pull codes now.
Any thoughts? Much appreciated...
UPDATE: The code it's popping is P1455 Brake Booster System, implausible signal.

Well you are not the only one with this issue. Mine is doing exactly the same, intermittent dash error. My hoses seem to be fine, just don't understand why the fault would come on, then 10 minutes after the fault will clear itself. Sounding more like an connection issue???

Anyone have any ideas as to what could be affected by the cold weather? My fault light only comes on when the temperature drops below 45 degrees F. When the temperature warms the fault clears.

Haven't seen a warning in 8 months, then last weeks temps dropped again, and boom the warning reappears. Normal braking throughout. Still trying to figure out what causes it...

Yes! I had the same message today on the way home in an epic NW storm and when I got home I searched the forum. It was a cracked plastic vacuum line off the vacuum pump. Replaced it with 5/8" rubber reinforced hose and all is good. Curse those plastic swagged tubes on this vehicle.
Thanks TozoM8 for the info. Had this problem solved in less than 30 min.
