new to me 2006 Cayenne S
Hello everyone. Tonight I am picking up a new to me 2006 Cayenne S with 79,000 miles. It is in excellent shape and the coolant lines were already done. Suspension is nice and tight with no noticeable shaking, shimmy'ing, or weird sounds.
The only thing that is needing attention is the rear hatch won't stay up on its own, driver's side headlight has a LITTLE bit of moisture in it, and the collapsible spare is missing. All I have is the Bose sub there. Anyone know where I can purchase the collapsible spare?
I've already ordered the headlight gasket and lift gate kit. I just need to wait for it to get a little warmer to do these fixes in my driveway.
Thanks!!!

Depending on what side of the country you're on there are a few good recycle shops around. I would highly recommend you know the best price you could get one for from a dealer/ECS first, some recycle shops obviously think their parts are better than new ones.

Congratulations. I am in a dilema whether to buy a 2006 S with less options or a 2004 S with more options?
The 2004 has less mileage. The 2006 S does not have heated seats, auto dimming rear view mirrors or the power assisted hatch.
the 2004 has auto dimming heated seats and heated steering too.
Should there be an issue buying a 2004 S if the condition of the car is decent? This is because I need heated seats in Canada where I live so have to spend an extra 1000 at least to get it installed.

FWIW, I didn't notice any difference in build quality between my '03 S and '06 Turbo S. Obviously there were material differences, but if you can pay a little less, get more options for lower mileage, just on what you've given us I'd say get the '04. One thing you can expect though that you're not going to like in Canada, just be aware, all of these Cayennes at least in the years I've owned up to '06 have practically useless rear defrost. We don't get enough ice were I live, or maybe I just don't have it out of the garage enough to know, but the rear window elements "might" get warm enough to loosen ice? All I can tell you is that the defrost is universally sub par and won't even clear minor frost without leaving lines. The rear wiper is your friend. So when you get your '04, rest assured, it wouldn't have been any better in the '06. Maybe it's improved in gen 2 or gen 3 vehicles.
