Default ordered Cayenne S diesel

Hi everyone! I'm new to rennlist but this seems to the place if you want to talk Porsche, very glad found it.

I'm just ordered a new Cayenne S diesel! So happy! the sad part is that I'll have to wait 6 months for delivery... has any one got their V8 diesel delivered and can say something about it? I drove both i V6 and the V8 before order and is was a huge difference in performance according to me.

Spec:

Cayenne S diesel
Umber metallic with tartufo leather interior
21" sport edition wheels painted in black
- PASM
- Entry and drive
- Bose sound system
- GPS navigation
- tinted windows
- blutetooth connection
- yachting mahogny wood panels
- sport seats
- panoramic sun roof
-xenon head lights

any options one should have that I have missed?

Congrats! Good choice! I haven't driven it yet, I'll get mine in May, but there are some very good links to first drive tests on this forum.

I also placed an order on the S diesel with JUne delivery being quoted. Btw you may need to check over your options because some on your list are actually standard equipment on an S Diesel such as PASM with the air suspension, zenon lights, Bose sound system. What country are you in? Did you also compare the performance of the S diesel to the V8 petrol?

Agree on the roof rails too. You can't fit them on later.

tow package only $7-800, much more $ to add later.
will help resale as many diesel users tend to tow.

Definitely recommend the lane change assist! The only option I wish we had included on our Cayenne.

thanks for input, I'll add roof rails, lane assist and tow bar. They are not very expensive options. I'm in Europe, Sweden, and Porsches here have very few things as standard.. all options on my list above cost extra here. And also you don't get more options included in the V8 then in the V6 diesel so you are only paying for the engine.

Wow. The S here has many things standard such as the auto dimming mirrors, 14 way seats, Bose, pasm with air, zenon lights etc..whereas the V6 diesel is fairly basic so you need to go pretty hard with the options.

Did you drive the V8 petrol at all? If so what was your impression vs the V8 diesel?

No I did not compare it in the V8 Petrol since i had decided to go for diesel on beforehand, the gas is to expansive here in sweden and I have owned BMW and Jaguars with diesels before and can live with the character of a diesel. However the difference between V6 and V8 diesel is HUGE! Im think the S diesel will be the best selling in Europe in the same way as Porsche sells more Cayman S then base Cayman

hey madzone! i'm in germany and ordered for an april delivery back in october to coincide with the return of my leased car. i see you got the 21 in wheels but not the air suspension. dealer here says the pasm is a must for wheels over 20in, and the air suspension would make the ride even better, so would you consider adding the air suspension for another, what, 2000 euro? i know air suspension presents repair worries, so i stayed with just pasm and smaller wheels. But with 21 in wheels, maybe i would delete the yachting mahogany, which is nice but costs more than 2000, to pay for it? send me a private message if you are interested in seeing the full spec of my order and discussing options in more detail.

We have the opposite situation. I bought a VW Sportwagen TDI for my wife 2 years ago. It gets great mileage but diesel here is typically 20% more than regular gas. When one considfers the extra cost for the TDI, its economy is largely negated.
