Default What's the standard "partial leather seat" interior like?

I am trying to find some details:
1. what is the strip made if that can be customized to various woods, aluminum and carbon if you don't choose to customize?
2. what does "partial leather seat" mean? What's not leather?
3. I like the stitching on the dashboard, but is that only for the full leather?

Thanks.

If you don't get a custom trim the standard is black and silver plastic bits. I'm happy with the default option.

If you don't get the full leather then only the seating surfaces are leather. The backs of the seats are plastic and the "Jesus handles" and dash are vinyl. I really wanted the two tone blue leather, but I have no complaints about the quality of plastic and vinyl.

....and yes, the stitching on the dash only comes with the full leather option.

What Mike said. I had a Cayenne loaner for a couple of weeks with minimal options (no leather, suspension add ons, etc.). I felt like I was in quite an austere vehicle (though the 6 cyl responsiveness was impressive). The fit and finish of the stitched, full leather is really very nice.

And the glossy black plastic interior bits also make a nice base for aftermarket dash/trim kits. I got a 32 piece B&I kit in dark burl, but can't install it until spring. I don't have a heated garage, and the instructions say minimum installation temperature is 70F

I went with the full leather.
I quite enjoy the look, the texture, the rich feel of it compared to standard vinyl dash & bits.
The stitching is very nice as well.
But to each their own.

Oh don't get me wrong, I wanted the full leather (damn useless waste of money the PCM was!). Just saying that the vinyl they used doesn't feel cheap or disappointing at all (unlike BMWs).

Have to agree with you on that.
Wasn't thrilled with Mercedes either...
