Default Air flows from incorrect vents - A/C controller ?

Car : 2004 Porsche Cayenne S with 110,000 miles
Problem:
Regardless of what settings I have selected for A/C Controller (Center Vents, Side vents etc.), the vent seems to be predetermined by the car each time I start the car. Few weeks ago air was only coming out from the center Vents, and now, the side vents blowing mad air but nothing from the center vents. Do you think I need to replace the A/C controller? If so does anybody have the procedure and the part number?
The Air gets cold or hot per the A/C or Heat settings, so no problem there. The Blower is also seems to be working since the flow is very strong and varies per fan settings. the vent settings are intermittent.
I appreciate any advice you may have.

Thanks - Chamilka

There are 2 issues probable

1 - controller - most likely
2 - individual servos - also likely but harder

My guess is controller

its stacked under the PCM, remove that and work down, I almost removed it for something else once. Not hard

I don't think I've seen the climate control unit fail. I have replaced about a dozen servo motors though. If you've got Durametric, you should be able to scan the Air Conditioning and find the faults. You should be able to calibrate it as well.

Not saying it doesn't happen, I just never saw one fail. I didn't start working on them until 2009. I know there were a lot of '03-'04 issues that I didn't have to deal with first-hand.

bumping this again.....So I should start with Durametric reading on controller over Servo motors. I replaced the fan this past summer and now its just dead.

I am assuming it's the signal not making it somewhere as the hot and cold temps still leak out of the vents
