Traditionally Porsches haven't been used as primary transport, so low mileage has helped increase resale values. It's going to be interesting seeing lots of high mileage Cayennes appearing on the used car market in a couple of years, especially with a facelift coming soon. If you're buying, expect to get burnt come resale time. Leasing short term is the better option.
Not buying at all would be my advice.

Metalsolid,
I guess I'm not the only one who you've rubbed the wrong way.
The fakey rolled Cayenne avatar is also probably scoring you big points with Cayenne owners.

Kevin,
Nope, of course I'm not getting a Cayenne, facelift or not; I'm trying to gauge dealer attitude to newly introduced models.
Anir,
Sure I've had differences of opinion with other people on this forum, and I should hope so, but you're the only person yet I've seen resort to personal attacks - or what, you have something constructive to add to this post?

A collectors item? With 25k of them being made I wouldn't expect it to be worth much. The 959 isn't holding any value nor are turbo's that were produced in quantities of 400 or so. I think collectors cars generally come in much smaller quantities.

John, If you read MetalSolids quotes from my post he states that his tabloid magazine sources tell him that Porsche is planning a facelift for the 2004 Cayenne.. I got a good laugh so I'm giving my dealer 10K over sticker to sell me 2003, I figure they only made a few of these before the facelift so maybe it will be a collectors item...

The respected European automobile magazine CAR, states Porsche are working on a facelift for 2004, which implies MY2005. If you don't like what they've written, hey, write them a letter.

A facelift in less than a year? I don't think so. More people complained about the looks of the 99 Carrera than they did the Cayenne, and the 996 restyle took 3 years.
Besdies, since people have started seeing it in person, I've heard very few complaints. In fact, the only complaints I've heard are from people here on this board who have no intentions of ever owning one. So their complaints really don't matter.
Oh, and we are neither marking up our Cayennes nor discounting. The price on the window, is the selling price.

Turbo's are MSRP here in the Midwest - we have all our Turbo's spoken for until next year. No facelift in the works. MY2004 are already in showrooms. Certainly not a collector's vehicle - but a great vehicle to own and drive.
