my P!G can't stop squealing. Now on start.
this has been an adventurous first few months of P!G ownership. New squeal, more like a screech. When I start the P!G it lets out a shriek as if I held the key too long or tried to turn the ignition on an already running car. Didn't happen every time today either. Just on cold start. Starter or serpentine belt?

Just a wild guess based on your statement of only on a cold start but I would speculate one of the secondary air pumps. They run for apx 2 min. on cold start.

How many miles are on it? Do you know the last time the drive belt was replaced? I would say drive belt tensioner without any other information.
FYI- starters do not normally make noises once the engine is started (unless stuck). The starter gear is retracted from the flywheel and stays inactive until next time you need to start the vehicle.

its your starter. Its the armature making that sound. Unfortunately its a sign of things to come or someone being cheap. Low coolant light been on lately? Havent seen any on the floor tho? Smell coolant but see none? The dreaded tubes are leaking and dousing the starter. If your tubes were done and the starter was not swapped out, the starter might have looked good then but now the coolant that covered it has taken its toll. Thats why the starter is a definite while your in there project. Coolant does nasty things to the starter. makes that exact sound. Plan on doing both while your in there.

I checked the pipes using the mirror method. They are metal. The starter must not have been replaced when the pipes were if that's the issue. What else did the coolant destroy that I should replace?
