gotcha, thanks sir...I'm not sure when the pipes were done but it was at least 4-6 months back..no leaks that I am aware of..how much is labor on this starter job typically from an Indy shop?

We had a similar problem
I would say 99% the starter is the problem

I read on either Renntech or 6speed about someone just letting this go w/o replacement... and stating that if you can tolerate the noise it will last a few years, any truth to this or should I just dive in and get a new one? still need opinions on labor costs..

I would estimate an experienced indy can swap out just the starter in a couple of hours plus 3.5-400 for the part. I guess if you can stand the noise you can uses as is until it dies.

I'm in the exact same friggin' boat. Coolant tubes replaced 6 months ago; starter began screeching 4 months ago; red fluid (TCP seal) on garage floor this morning.

Wondering if anyone has used the re-man starters available online for ~$200??

This is very expensive

I think AdMan21 ran from his Cayenne, and got a 4Runner.

Once you get through the pipes and tcp seal. It's much gets better. I didn't have the alternator problem after my pipes were done. It's been almost a year now.

No problems now, just oil changes.

Here is what work was involved with mine when I removed the engine to get at the seal.

not if your doing it. P!g was definitely not designed for repair. The more i work on them the more I want to meet, and beat, the designers.
