doors lids and spare tire bracket switches
unable to find where located positioning (locked/ unlocked) switch for spare tire bracket. drives me crazy . it always shows gate open on the display and not allowing access to other options. can't even change time. hate Porsche cayenne. stupid junk.

I'm sorry to hear about your problem comrade. Is this post really from Seattle, or perhaps from Russia?

This was a fairly common problem. If your Cayenne is an early model, there is a little switch located in the lower hinge of the spare tire carrier. You can unplug the harness to that switch and you should be fine. You may need to remove the bumper cover to do so, but I don't remember for sure. The later models did away with that particular switch because it was problematic, and unnecessary (there's a switch in the locking mechanism too).

spare tire switch
hope you got it figured out. if not here goes. you only need to remove trim around lower hinge to get to switch. you can jump connector if needed but
its all a hassle, hatch needs to look at this switch to operate too. there is tech bulletin so porsche dealer or shop with piwis or tester2 can reflash control unit
to not look at spare tire carrier any more. had this done to mine now no more
beeps and lights. i bought tester2 after that.
