Cool, thanks!

Is that the software part of it?

I assume this is the module?

I've also given it a shot on some BMW's - works great, and wife's Lexus - also works great. Around $200 (Google it), uses software from Launch diagnostics, works with an Android phone, so it goes in the drivers pocket of the Porsche and stays there. My Durametric sits at home, about unused. And yes - the iCarScan sets/resets service warnings just fine. And there is no VIN limitation (5 manufacturers - of your choice - are included with it, with 1 year of free updates.) It also offers activations, and some coding ability.

Just an update on the Launch situation. Apparently the ICarScan has been discontinued - but software support is continuing. Updates for selected vehicles have downloaded to my Android phone.

Launch appears to have gotten in the game themselves with:
Amazon Amazon

If you look through Amazon - this adaptor appears at two price points, one at $45, and one at $79. The one at $79 is the one to get - it allows you to download two manufacturer specific diagnostics. You can also purchase additional manufacturer's diagnostics for an additional fee.

A friend with a Cayenne bought one. His runs the same Porsche diagnostics software as my ICarScan, and it is quite capable for the 958. It also appears to be extensive for other model Porsches and other manufacturers (I enabled/downloaded BMW and Toyota-Lexus for mine.)

It is capable of resetting any and all service indicators that I've tried it on.
