Default 2006 Cayenne Titanium, nav cd wont work!

Hey guys-

Recently bought a 2006 Cayenne Titanium and the nav disc was missing. I have now tried 3 different ones and they are not recognized. How do I figure out which version I need to match my system ?

Thanks for any help, this is driving me crazy!!!

Is the nav on a '06 Cayenne CD or DVD based? What are you trying, CDs or DVDs? Might want to check with the dealer.

Yes, the '06 PCM is DVD based (PCM2.1). And being that it is an '06 it should have at least "Level B" software which means you need to use at least a late '05 or later DVD and it goes in the Nav drive under the passenger seat and not into the head unit. With the unit on Press & Hold the Main & Trip buttons together and let us know what software version it is. P.S. it also helps to have your location in your Signature as there are some differences between N. America, Europe, & Asia. BTW the software on the main pg you are looking for should be something like 04202xxx or 05024xxx or 05395xxx.

Here are shots from the Cayenne of the software versions. Does this help anyone figure it out? Thanks for the help!

Are you putting the disc in the Nav drive under the passenger seat? What is the date on the disc? You have "Level C" version 4.0 software which is good.

I had a friend give me his, I think its 4.2005 - didnt work. Also tried some 2006 that someone copied for me.

Is there someone that can copy me a later version so I can see what works? I dont really know what to do...
I dont even know which one to buy on eBay if that is what I need....

Yes, to confirm, I am using it in the dvd slot under the passenger seat.

4.2005 will not work, that is for "Level A" software. You don't say what area you are in, maybe you can find someone that lives near you. The newest disc from the dealer is about $300. You could always go to the dealer and see if they have one open that they'll just let you give it a try?

Asking people to make copies of copyrighted software is a good way to get a forum owner in trouble. The copyright holder (Navtec and Porsche) tend to frown on that sort of intellectual property theft.

My WAG (based on not a lot) is - your NAV/DVD (the one under the seat) unit is kaput, and the former owner had the same problem, hence the missing navigation disk - or - the disks you're using are too old. There is a warning when you do the upgrade to the firmware that earlier disks will no longer work with the system. Since you have revision C - I'm guessing you'll need at least a 2006 disk, or perhaps newer.

OK oops stupid - didnt meant to do that. Agree. Love these forums.

I think the dealer was a sheister and kept the DVD to resell, IMHO. Just my impression. The mats, disc changer, books, and extra key also all missing. Why I still bought, that's another story (know the owner, etc) Long story.

So anyone have any ideas on how to figure which disc is the one for me? I can buy on eBay etc (legit copy) but just want to get the correct one...

THX

Like I said, any 2006 or later DVD will work, just the newest ones will have the newest maps on them. Porsche did release a 2011 update which was the first PCM2.1 update since 2008 I believe so others are wondering if they will ever release another since the PCM2.1 was upgraded to PCM3 in 2008 I believe.

Sorry but I am still kind of lost. ANY porsche DVD from 2006 on, or do I need to look for a specific one based on PCM?

Apologize if this is dumb Q!

https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...ght=pcm+update

See post #24, has info from my update in June '08. Whole bunch of BS in the thread (mostly from me) but #24 has the part number you need. (Ask if there's a newer version than that, don't think there is though.)
