Any GTS owner willing to call me? I'm in a GTS loaner...
for the weekend from a cool local used euro dealer I know. I am considering trading my Audi RS4. I LOVE my RS4 but need a car to tow my GT3 to the local track and am considering 955 (fom research it seems like the GTS is the best fit for me and my needs), but I am still trying to decide vs Turbo, or Turbo S).
This car is a 2008, silver with blk, 48K miles, Tip, TOW hook, etc. I have been driving it this afternoon and it is pretty sweet, for a TRUCK! LOL.
I would really appreciate a call from a fellow R'lister who owns a GTS.

I bought my GTS Piglet for the same reason.

I do not have a GTS, but a Cayenne S, and I'm towing, not a GT3, but a boat (a Cobalt) that is quite heavy (little over 6'000).
I can tell you that the CS is already great (I did few "long tow", i.e.: few San Francisco to Newport Beach and back) and always felt very good. I think CS and GTS have same breaks, but, if you want to go to the top, you may consider a Turbo S, that have even larger brakes.
In term of power, with 6'000 on the back, for example climbing the Tejon Pass is easy, and even with the 955 (non FSI), I never felt that I was out of power. But it is true that the temp is climbing a bit too. The culprit is may be my radiator, as, now the car has over 80'000 miles (we got it new) and I may have to clean the radiator (i.e.: lot of insects). Also, I'm thinking about fitting (since longe time !) the front bumper of a turbo, to have a larger air intake, ..which is exactely what the GTS have !
One thing that I did and felt that it made good improvement, is changing the tires in the back, on the original 20" Technos" (20X10 wide in the back) , form 20 x 275 /40 original tires to 20 x 315 /35. Circumference is the same (very important as it is a 4x4), but handling when towing was improved.
My 2 cents..

Happy to describe my experience so far - 7+ months. On and off road perspective, but no towing and no comparison to turbo iteration. If you're still looking for perspectives I'll give you a call on Monday.

I bougth the little piggy.... :)
Thank you to all the blokes that called me and shared insight with me: Lawerence, Frank, GTS 6spd, GVA-SFO, Arneea A, Andy E., On Pole, sorry if forgetting anyone!
I got great deal on a "decent" GTS, 2008, well equiped, 43K miles, $45K.
It needs full rotors and pads, but otherwise solid. I drove it for 48hours and tested everything. It all works.
I can't wait to pull my GT3 out to the local track! Now to go find a trailer.....
