Default Interior light issue

Ok, where Is the switch that tells the interior lights to come on when the drivers door is opened? Mine is not working.

In addition my trunk stopped unlocking with the remote when I unlock the car, switch on door works fine, thoughts?

Thanks!

Not sure on the interior lights, but I think that you set the preferences for unlocking through PCM. Mine went from all 4 doors unlocking to only driver door after a service that disconnected the battery. I've never had the auto rear hatch open thingy. Always need to hit the other button to open my rear.

Marc, in addition to the interior lighting, the door contact switch also controls the automatic door locking system. This system re-actuates the door locks if the "unlock" button on the remote is accidentally depressed while in your pocket. To see if the door contact switch is actually the culprit, unlock all the doors using your remote and open the driver's side door. Wait approximately 10-15 seconds to see if the system will re-engage all the door locks. If it does, chances are high that the door contact switch requires replacement.

The door contact switch is part of the door latch ***'y. Replacement of the switch is a lengthy process. To remove the door switch, you must first remove the inner door panel and other components to access the door latch which is bolted to the rear portion of the door frame. The good news is that this component is available as a separate part contrary to having to replace the entire door latch ***'y.

Marc, there's a part number in the PET showing a Bowden cable. Perhaps this cable contains the microswitch? Why else would the service manual show a procedure on replacing the switch alone?
