I know you have both eye's open and brain engaged here so I'm not going to re-hash the history of the P!G pen .. and I am just a poseur ... BUT my research indicates that the second gen trucks resolved many of the problems listed on the back of your PPT EXCEPT piston slap/ring failure when you get past 80K miles .. and I think that's still a concern on the 2011 and on V8's and 997/991 engines as well although the mileage factor seems to be going up on the newer motors so ... they're working on it.
The only advantage (that I know of) to spending the extra $7K premium for most used '09's is the touch screen navigation module .. seems kind of a small point for the convenience, and the fact that the warranty is good for an extra year ... I don't think I need to tell you to look for a CPO that extends 4 years past the factory time limit if you can get one ... Not bad for Chikin', eh?

So, just as a benchmark, I just looked at an '08 S at a Chevy Dealer .. (yes, that's right ... so no CPO) Meteor Grey over Sand beige, Pano roof, Nav, 21K miles .. asking $42K. I've found several CPO 08's with 30-40K miles for low to mid-40's ....
But at 29K miles ... you could get a LOT of problems fixed for the difference in money spent for the newer platform. If it were me, let 'em roll or sleep in the streets (or the back seat, whichever comes first ..

.... and you're complaining about a little 'towing' incident because .....
Jeezus, maryandjoseph! You've literally beaten the 'house' here sir. Shall we add up all the possible expenses that you could have had to bear and divide that by 365 and see how much you're actually making each day you drive it without incident?

Believe me this has not been without expense in the past. Beta owners develop thick skins and deep wallets. Helped only a little by a third party ....

Soo .... not to bring up a bad subject ... but 129K miles .. how's the engine holding up? No odd 'noises' coming from the pistons/valve train? What's your oil consumption like if you don't mind me asking a very 'personal' question here ..
