New Cayenne Diesel

Three Wheelin'
Not sure about Porsche (although is the Diesel a Porsche Motor or VAG?) but the new Audi Diesels are starting to use a composite block with Graphite which I guess is much lighter than standard big Cast Iron Blocks. Comes from their Lemans Racing Diesel technology. I'm sure not as light as a Aluminum block but lighter than the standard Cast Iron, and I think the Porsche Diesel is a Audi Motor isn't it?

Yep, the diesel engine in the Cayenne is made by Audi and is the same engine that is used in the Panamera diesel . A good write up on the engine (in the Panamera) here: Diesel Panamera link

you're right, but it's still heavier http://www.porsche.com/all/comparemo...none&compTab=4
only by 50 kgs though, quite impressive.
when you look at audi a6 3.0tfsi quattro vs. audi a6 3.0tdi quattro (same engine as in cayenne), the tdi is lighter by almost 100 kgs. funny.

Still very impressive for a car this size and weight !! I think it will be extremely popular over there if Porsche decide to release it.
