Long time reader of the forum and in part this convinced me to join the Porsche family and pick up a new Cayenne Diesel. Main purpose is as a tow car so the diesel was the preference over the other models.
It has the following items installed:
Privacy Glass
Park assist front and rear
Reversing Camera
Powerlift tailgate
Auto dimming interior and exterior mirrors
18 way adaptive sports seats
Bi Xenon headlights
Bose sound
Bluetooth Telephone
Universal audio interface
Light comfort package
100 liter fuel tank
Servotronic
Front and Rear stainless aprons
Panoramic roof
Side airbags rear
Side running boards
Air intakes and rear spoiler edge painted in gloss black
Turbo II rims
Also fitted up the turbo bonnet and front bumper as I preferred this look to the standard items
and Ryan from Suncoast helped me out with the following:
Smoked rear tail lights
interior carbon pack including grab handles, steering wheel, gear lever, centre console, and all door trims.
Bi Xenon headlights from the Turbo as the optional bi xenons don't include the daytime running lights in the headlight assembly.
With the primary role as a tow car pulling close to 3.5 tonne I also upgraded the brakes with the Brembo big brake kit that increases the front rotors from 350mm up to 410mm and the rear rotors from 330mm up to 360mm. Front and rear calipers were also upgraded to better Brembo 6 pots at the front and 4 pots at the rear along with braided brake lines all round. Also have the H&R springs installed.
I have a DPChip installed that gives it a bit more torque for towing, standard power was 180kw and 550nm, it's now up to 221kw and 675nm with a Cargraphic exhaust installed as well.
A couple of pics that I took today:

The H&R springs primarily lower the Cayenne around 2 inches compared to the stock springs. The ride is slightly firmer but not harsh or obtrusive. I've had a friend who owns a 958 turbo (with air suspension) ride in the car and he commented that the ride is just as smooth as the turbo.
I can't see it would have a huge impact on the shock life given the spring firmness seems very close to stock.

where are you located? i wish we had the diesel option here stateside... i have never been a diesel person but the benefits are across the board... better towing, better mileage, lighter engine, just win/win/win..
i am very interested in the H&R springs as well... good to hear they ride well.
car looks phenomenal... the brakes and front bumper and so forth.. need more pics!

I'm in Australia so the diesel is a big seller down here. Wait time for a new Cayenne diesel is 6-8 months depending on the spec. Fuel economy is fantastic and you wouldn't even know you're driving a diesel. With the 100ltr tank it's normal to get over 1,000 kms between fills.
If you guys could get this model in the States I think the Cayenne hybrid sales would slump. I'll get some more pics up shortly.
Cheers and thanks for the comments.

no way, diesels are always heavier than comparable gas counterparts. been driving various diesels (mercedes, VW/audi, bmw ...) a long time, but if you need power a gas V8 + 2 turbos is the way to go
(I have to admit, that if I had to consider another car right now, it would probably be a q7 v8 4.2tdi which is a fkin awesome car to drive w/ ±750lb/ft torque after a modest chip tune)
to stay on topic: WOW, those breaks are AWESOME!!!! nice ride!!!

Hi
Very nice car !
I have about the same (black) but without the chiptuning.
Does the chiptuning affect the way the cars drive in an important way ?
Does the way the engine sounds (inside the car) changes ? Someone told me the sound becomes more 'diesel'-like, so less smooth.
Please advise.
Thx
Eddy
