Default New Owner 2005 Turbo First Long Drive

My 2005 Turbo was delivered last Tuesday. I had it detailed Wednesday and on Thursday drove it 526 miles from Detroit to DC, then back on Sunday. (The 928 Frenzy was in Dulles).
Rain most of the way. But it felt like I was on rails.
Great handling, held the road really well, quiet and comfortable. Throttle response is awesome.
The left lane patrol couldn't foil my advance no matter how many vans and Prius' they stacked up. A blip of the throttle and the Cayenne zipped around before they knew what happened.
I'm really impressed with the Cayenne. One great ride!

Sounds like a great trip! Hopefully the 928 Frenzy wasn't impacted too much by the weather; kind of wet and cold around here over the weekend.

It rained on and off. We were inside much of the day but the fun drive didn't look like much fun so I passed on it.

The trip home was a blast. Miles of open road and high speed turns on the PA tpke. The weather kept the trucks and Sunday drivers at home I guess. Traffic was light.
Seems PA drivers driving the limit or below like the left lane more than most, .
But I suppose if the Ohio tpke was two lanes like PA, it'd be much the same.

I've driven the route many times over the years since I have family on the east coast. The Cayenne is by far the best ride of anything I've driven so far in terms of comfort and power.

When the Cayenne Turbo is in the mood, it does tend to put a smile on your face.

So Rob,

When are you going to start work on adding padding and recovering the stock heated steering wheel? There is a market for them..

Running tacky Chinese wheel cover in NJ..

I can re-wrap a steering wheel for $350.
As of now I'm not ready to commit to adding padding to a steering wheel. There's a lot to selecting the material, creating a separate pattern, doing a few prototypes. Then there's fitment, warranty, durability and liability concerns.

Well, if not steering wheels, how about adding some other custom leather interior products for the Cayenne to your line?

I do steering wheels for not only Cayenne, but other models, just not PADDED steering wheels.

I'll be adding some other custom leather pieces in the coming weeks.

I love my 2005 CTT. It always puts a smile on my face ... still. I have driven and owned many sweet cars in my day, but this is the one I have had for 3 years and 40,000 miles. It is a true SUV. Shut off PSM and it drives like a sports car!

I haven't turned off PSM as my wife is always driving it. The times I drive the 05 CTT, I love it. Already making plans of getting rid of the X5 for a GTS. I don't know why I waited so long.
