Default New owner, 05 Turbo

Hi all, I sold my 996 C4S awhile back but now we're new owners of an 05 Turbo.

Titanium on Black.

No pics yet as it rained here the other day... the day after I got her clayed!

It's nothing special, an 05 Turbo with 18" turbo wheels.

Time to read on up other stuff other than the driveshaft or the coolant pipes!

thanks. I don't like the turbo lag. I'm thinking some intake and cat bypass pipes will cure it.

I don't find my '06 TTS has much Turbo lag but it seems like the transmission has some hesitation on kickdown and I find that shifting it manually gives better results. I did install secondary Cat bypasses which improves power a bit, just noticeable but nothing great. I see there was a Tech bulleting about some software to improve throttle response, I'll see if I can dig it up.

My dealer charged me about $125 to update to the newest software. The e-gas is much better with the newest software.

+1, I find if I stick it in 'M' or hit the tiptronic the 'Turbo Lag' disappears. Just remember there is a fair bit of horsepower from the 4.5 V8 before the turbo kicks in.

The dealer updated the software on mine while it was still under warranty and it really helped the hesitation.

I'm waiting to change the wheels, but it came with new tires so... I'll have to wait.

Thanks for sharing
What size wheels are you going for? 20s or 21s?
