Good luck folks, been through more than a few of them. 3 of them were on boats/ships at sea, not fun. Don't try to ride it out, get out of the way as best you can.

Again, good luck and best wishes.

P!G is in the garage, safe & sound. I'm more concerned about flying back and considering extending the stay by a day or two. The prospect of flying during bad weather ain't too f-g appealing

It better go away by Tuesday. If not, I'm off to get my hands on as many tranquilizers as possible

Is garage above or below ground? One of the hurricanes I rode out was when we were getting ready to pull into Pearl Harbor (Honolulu), we stayed out at sea an extra day to let the storm pass first. Most of the hotels that had underground garages were busy trying to pump water out of said garages when we pulled in the next day.

Where are you flying back from? IMWTK

Dear IM, I should be flying out of FCO.

P!G resides in an above-ground garage.

It'll be real inconvenient for them to have you (your plane actually) turn around and go back huh?

Signed,
IM (or Nosey for short)

oh c'mon!

i was born and raised in wilmington NC where pretty much every hurricane hit directly for like 5 years straight and still does... no need to worry.... hell, boarding up the windows even got old after a few cat 4's... just dont live in a trailer park, they seriously DESTROY trailer parks, running away always causes the hurricane to avoid your town and hit where you drove to, that has happened to us at least 3x..

get water, batteries... put blankets in tub if you hear a train noise then jump in it... and ur good.

we even lived on the ocean, house was 14'6" above highest recorded flood line, tide still hit us but never was anything worse than resetting the pilings on the pier.

I've been through a bunch, but one hurricane was kinda fun when I had the beach house. I was actually on local NYC TV lying about my advanced planning. The TV crew interviewed and filmed me on my deck as I pretended to bring in some patio furniture and talk about provisions.

I'm more pissed this time because I was supposed to go golfing in the Carolinas this weekend.

I'm all packed up ready to evacuate tomorrow. My garage is 50 feet from the ocean 1ft below mean sea level.
