On a Carrera "Sport Chrono" refers to the analog stopwatch "wart" on the dash coupled with an adaptive sport setting for engine management and other features. The Sport button on a Cayenne S has been standard, does not include the analog timer, and in addition to engine mapping and shift points, also activates sporty settings for PASM, PDCC, and PSE if you have those optional features. What exactly is changing for 2012? Are Cayennes going to have the "wart"?

Exactly my question. I ordered the compass; is there an option for the sport chrono?

There wasn't before, so I'm wondering what the OP is referring to.

If your dealer really told you that "Sport Chrono" is standard on a Cayenne S I suspect he either has his nomenclature confused or simply doesn't know what he is talking about.

sport button is on all cayenne's. there is no sport button on cayman and carrera unless you get sport chrono so i think something was lost in translation.

either way, sport button is really nice to have... really changes the fuel maps and shifting maps of the vehicle

and, according to the porsche configurator, not only is there still a charge for the compass, but a red dial is available as an exclusive option.

Methinks our OP may profit from speaking with a more learned sales advisor.....

No problem, but now, what's a "Chrono Clock"?
