my CTS. the benz was definitely faster...
well, we kinda both were with each other part of the time was I making the way and he was following, then he passed me, then we tried a couple of acceleration bursts to see who's got bigger ***** /he did, bummer/ and so on.
yep, I thought we would be about even, but that thing is definitely a beast. and THE SOUND!!!!! I neeeeeeeeed to do something with the sound of my CTS, it's too subtle compared to the benz

Tonight - Las Vegas. Went across the desert from Bryce Canyon National Park (spent two nights at the lodge, highly recommended..) after visiting Kolab Canyon in Zion National Park. The temperature in the desert was around 100F (+/- 2 degrees..) - the temperature gauge never moved off 180F... even when doing 90MPH for long periods of time (the legal speed limit on part of I-15 in Utah is 80MPH! Whee! US AutoBahn..) Went through south-western Utah, a corner of Arizona and dropped into Nevada. A bit over 3,000 miles now and about 300 to go. Truck has run flawlessly.. and given an average MPG of 19.6.

I'm on a vacation in Croatia right now, in a tiny village called Promajna at the foot of Biokovo mountains. tomorrow, I'm going up on the highest peak called Sveti Jure, which rises up to 5780 feet above sea level (just so you get an idea: (not my pic....yet) ) there is a recently paved road going right to the top, 25 clicks of pure mayhem, no speed limit (OK, there is a speed limit, just not enforced ), we'll see how the CT-S will perform. wish I had a gt3 or something similar to do the hill climb...
on the way here, I had great fun driving on Croatian motorways, I caught up with an Austrian RS6 and he was really nailing it all the way down here, I managed to shave off 1 hour of our proposed arrival time displayed on the PCM when entering Croatia. sure enough he knew all the radar traps (I hope there were no laser ones he missed ) and slowed down a couple of times even before my V1 went off.
now I just hope the Croatian highway patrol won't wait for me at the border when I go back home

2 of my pics from today's trip:
Attachment 562908
Attachment 562909
the road was not so recently paved as I discovered, so I'm glad I went up there in my pig. great great fun, the pics you see are just the final 1,5 miles of the climb but the previous 14 miles were also perfect! I'll put up more pics on picasa
