Default How Long on the Ship?

My car left port on the 27th. How long did it take for those of you on the west coast to take delivery after the ship left port? I was given the name of the ship by my dealer and it's last reported position was just leaving the English Chanel on the 31st. It has not updated it's position since then 8+ days.

The Atlantic transit is about three weeks to the East Coast, figure about a month to the West Coast and then about 7 to 10 days in the port and to prepare the cars (adding nav maps and printing window sticker), and loading the cars onto trucks for delivery.

Get the name of the ship your car is on from the dealer, and you can watch it travel across the Atlantic on www.marinetraffic.com. Depending on the port, it usually takes 2-3 weeks.

I've tried that, but don't get any information on the ship.

It should update again when it gets close to its' next destination, they will usually stop at multiple ports. It will go "dead" while it is travelling across. Keep checking.

It will be here before you know it!

gte - did you ever get any more info on your delivery? You inspired me to see if I could find out about mine too. Mine was supposed to be built in mid May for a west coast delivery in late June so our cars might be on the same ship. I tried to get information from my dealer but he is being a pain in the a** and won't say anything other than it has a really good chance of being delivered in June. Since I can't get the details from my dealer I thought I would live vicariously through you (and pray my V6 is on the same boat).

Tex, the name of the vessel is centaurus leader. It left port on the 27th of May, and went through the Panama Canal on the 15th. You're probably on the same ship, it's due in port in So Cal on the 23rd. I'm not sure how long after docking it takes to get on a truck. Where in California are you located?

Awesome, thanks for the details. I'm in northern CA so it probably will take an extra day or so to get up to the Bay Area, once it makes it through port. Very exciting.

Got mine through a cay buying service (perhaps that is why I am having a hard time finding more details). I suspect it is being delivered to a dealer in SoCal and then shipped up here so I will likely have an extra day or 2 delay. While they got me a better deal than I could find from my local dealer, I probably wouldnt use them again to order a new car.

I wonder why with cars in such demand, a dealer would give up one of their allotment? Where are you located in the bay area
