Default Would you let Firestone Align you Cayenne

So, this month I am purchasing the TechArt lowering module, and will need an alignment.

Firestone is close, cheap, and is open later but would you let them align you cayenne.

I have used them in the past for my beater trucks and my 914 but I am not sure if I trust them on a modern car?

thanks in advance for the responses

The worst that can happen is your alignment is off and your tires wear unevenly.

+1 which would then make it more expensive than bringing it to your Porsche dealer or a reputable independent.

I wouldn't let Firestone put air in a bicycle tire.

I had Firestone align my son's POS 1995 Volvo, and they f'ed that up. I wouldn't ever let them touch either of my P cars...

anyone else wonder about alignment with air suspension?

how does the geometry stay the same while raising/lowering?

usually lowering vehicle 1-2" would change geometry drastically but it changes to these lower heights at high speeds... hmm..

i would go to a local store with a laser setup.. and they will do fine.

I'm with Frank on this one. If you're going with TechArt equipment, chances are that you're also running expensive wide and low profile tires. Is it worth it wearing them out to save a few bucks?

Don't let anyone touch your car who still lives at home with their parents, or should be living with parents. That includes oil changes, brake fluid and especially brakes.

Don't give anyone a chance to "learn" on your car!

if the shop has a "target" type alignment system which is the latest generation and also most accurate, I would suspect they would also have qualified people to use the equipment.

After all, doing an alignment isn't exactly brain surgery. Although, many people do still seem to screw it up!

I would recommend requesting for a printout of the alignment before vs. after numbers to ensure that they did adjust to spec.

I didn't even need to think about that one. I'll wait for a dealer special.

The 993 gets aligned at a independent's shop that specializes in Porsche, Audi and BMW, they have the tool for the kinetic (sp ?) toe adj. too. Most shops don't have it.
