Default Please Review my Build Cayenne S

I have tried to keep this somewhat minimalist, hence the omission of PASM but we are sticking with the V8! A few questions:

* I can't find how to add the Park Assist package by itself without upgrading from Basic to Comfort Package

* Should I bother ordering the cross-bars and just get the rails for now. Apparently the factory cross-bars cannot accomodate Thule or Yakima boxes i.e. you have to use Thule or Yakima cross-bars. Is this accurate?

* I didn't spring for the Jet Black metallic paint. Mistake?

I think omitting PASM is something you might regret- especially if you live in an area with snow or off-road requirements.

We live in West Vancouver and regularly drive to Whistler so deal with wet snow in the winter. I didn't realise PASM would help in this scenario.

I'm guessing joes95rx7 was really referring to the optional air suspension which, with it's different ride height settings, would be useful in deep snow or off road. The only way to get AS is in combination with PASM, however, so that may have been his point.

Also, as you probably know, if you're planning to use a luggage carrier of any kind get the rails as they can't be added after the fact. You can always get the cross bars later once you decide which cargo box you're going to use.

+1 for Mike's comments and suggestions. There is no substitute to the beauty of solid black paint but the advantage of JBM over solid black is that metallic paint (even black metallic) will hide swirls to some extent. I am very **** when it comes to keeping my cars free of swirls and knew that if I ordered solid black, I would be spending more time polishing and correcting swirls than actually driving the vehicle like it is meant to be.

Summer Performance Tires for 18-Inch Wheels H9K

Not sure want this unless changing wheels and tires for snow season.

Yes, we would change to winter wheels and tires each year.

I also live in Vancouver and tried to keep my build within budget. I first chose the basic package like yours.
I wanted the roof rails, but thinking back, I never used them on my current SUV. Instead I am going with the PASM. So I chose the comfort package and the Bose system.
Good luck in your decision. I am still wondering if I made the right choice.

That was my point, thanks for expounding.

Default Comments on options

Any insight / comments on my selection of:

Comfort Lighting Package with Comfort/Driver Memory Package PP6

Three-Spoke Multi-Function Heated Steering Wheel in Walnut Trim 1XJ

Variable Assist Power Steering 1N3

Non-Smoker Package 9JA

Comfort Lighting Package with Comfort/Driver Memory Package PP6

I am now not so sold on walnut steering wheel if I don't order walnut interior. The other options are inexpensive and seem to make good sense - no obvious drawbacks with them.

Unless you get the walnut interior, I would pass on the walnut wheel.

The moonroof (3FE) and Servotronic steering (1N3) are standard on the Cayenne S (you did say you were getting the V8, right?)

Maybe the configuration tool works differently with Canadian models. I will clarify with dealer. Yes, it is a V8.
