Default Putting an OEM PCM Navigation in

Has anyone put in an OEM PCM navigation unit in? I found a really good deal on a 2004 CS but it does not have the PCM Navigation unit and I have seen a few on ebay and wonder if this is a straight forward install?

It can be done but not very cost effective.
I have PCM in my 04, There are FAR better aftermarket units available, You should look into that. I have a Pioneer Double Din unit in my 996 that blows away the PCM2. I'm all for the factory look but it's just not worth in in my opinion.

My '05 CS originally came without PCM Nav/SAT but it was installed (dealer) few months later.

I agree with Marc. We have OEM nav in our 2004 CS, and it's not exactly packed with features. It's adequate, but it's dated. There are better options available from Pioneer and Kenwood.

Yes, it is a straight forward install for your dealer, as it is a Tequipment option and therefore OEM warranty and install.

As for price vs. value....your call

I find it that cars with radio controls on the steering wheel seem not to work will with aftermarket systems. My GF has a 2003 explorer and has an eclipse nav unit. I bought the module that makes it such that the steering wheel controls will work with the unit and it works awful. Huge delay when you push the buttons and sometimes it does not work at all.

Maybe your dealer could do a PCM 2.1 from '05- with DVD Nav as the '04 had CD Nav with many other limitations.
